Swapan Parekh spotlights the career of Kishor Parekh, his father, whose work was the foundation for the emergence of modern photojournalism in India. In the LARB's photography spotlight, Michael Kurcfeld focuses on Swapan Parekh's exhibition during the Delhi Photo Festival where he enlarged photographs by Kishor Parekh.
When asked about his own work, Swapan Parekh remarks:
So I don't know how much of my life has been a dream. … Maybe my life now is an ode to my father. Sometimes I feel it might be unfinished business, that he's still shooting through me. But definitely the legacy of the darkroom, the film, the processing of good black-and-white prints, that I have to say definitely comes from him.
